CAT-ASTROPHE
She stepped into the blue ocean of morning, and looked up towards the sky
& as her gaze moved up and up, something odd atop a willow caught her eye
There, in the tall thin branches, swaying in the wind,
A still & silent tabby was curled amongst its limbs
She shouted to it, clapped her hands, her dogs enhanced the sound
But the cat just lay there, never moving its silence was profound
***
Knowledge that the cat was dead slid slowly down her face
In bitter tears that came unbidden with griefs wet, salty taste
She struggled back into her house through mournings heavy waves
& tried to ponder what to do, and who to call to save
At least the body of this once fine cat, to bring it back to ground
She imagined how it sought its safety then could not climb back down,
& how it sat there, starving, thirsty, forever trapped in that green embrace
***
She couldnt stand it, went back outside, but when she looked, saw only space
The cat was gone! Had played great possum, just pretended to be dead
And what shed believed to be total truth was just a story in her head
Then laughter hit her, exploded from her, Joy blazed throughout her soul
& the crystal blue promise of the ocean of morning was restored, renewed, and made whole
A VOICE FOR SANITY
ID LIKE TO BE A VOICE FOR SANITY, OFFER ANOTHER CHOICE THAN VANITY, SPEAK OF TRUTH AND NOT INSANITY,
AND THUS BRING LOVE BACK TO HUMANITY
***
IF ITS ANY INDICATION OF MY GENERAL IRRITATION WITH THE MADNESS INTER-NATION,
I D LIKE FOR MY NARRATION FROM CREATIVE IMAGINATION TO LIVE ON IN SYNDICATION
ID SPREAD THE INFORMATION WHICH INCREASES MANS ELATION IN SHARING GODS CREATION THUS AVOIDING ALL DAMNATION FOR ETERNITYS DURATION
***
YES, ID LOVE TO BE A VOICE FOR SANITY AND THUS BRING MAN BACK TO HUMANITY
OPINIONATED
WERE SO FOND OF OUR OPINIONS, WE REALLY THINK THEM TRUE
IF YOU SEE FIT TO DISAGREE WITH ALL THE THINGS AND WAYS I SEE, THEN ITS YOU WHO ARE WRONG, NOT ME
YES, WE'RE SO IN LOVE WITH OUR OPINIONS, WE STICK TO THEM LIKE GLUE
AND ILL STAND UP AND FIERCELY FIGHT WITH ALL OF MY STRONG EGOS MIGHT CUZ I KNOW THAT I AM RIGHT, NOT YOU
BUT
WHAT IF WE WERE BOTH WRONG, AND WHAT IF WE'RE BOTH RIGHT?
THEN LIFE WOULD BE A MELODY IN WHICH WE D BOTH DELIGHT
YOU SEE, IT ISNT THE GOSPEL ACCORDING TO ME, NOR THE GOSPEL ACCORDING TO YOU, AND ALL OUR OPINIONS JUST ADD UP TO NOTHING IN THE FACE OF WHATS ETERNALLY TRUE
THAT DOWN DEEP AT SOUL LEVEL, WHERE THERE S NEITHER A ME NOR A YOU, WERE ALL JOINED IN SOUL ONE-NESS AND WHOEVER I AM, YOU ARE TOO
