Time for Tenderness

Please let's take a timeout
From our working relations
From all the wedding preparations
Renew our loving sensations
Rekindle our true motivations
Ignite some inspiration
Move beyond things
That must be done
And have some fun!

I realize you're working
Oh so hard
I understand it is not easy
And there is much to do
But all I care about is you
I asked you to marry me
Not all of the family
Not all of the Brides maids
Not the maitre d'
All I care about
Is you and me
Karla it's you I Love
It's you I want
Nothing more
Nothing less
Honey to me
You are absolutely the best
Forget about all the rest
I know you can't
But perhaps for a day
Just try to remove from it
And mentally get away
For th e sake of us
Forget the fuss
Forget the details
Because in comparison to our Love
Such thing pales

Take time for tenderness
In our Love is heavenly bliss
If you want to attend to something
Focus on this
For what use is all the accessories
The wedding party
The ceremonial celebration
The elaborate decoration
Unless Love is the motivation
Yes there is Love
Yes it is the fuel
Yet Love itself
Also has a school
We are now enlisted
In the school of Love
Learning to give
Learning to live
Learning to listen
Learning to feel
Learning to commit
And not quit

Love shall propel us forward
In Love
Neither of us
Shall be bored
However with work
There is weariness
With preparations
There are stressful expectations
With people and parties
There are challenges and difficulties
Nevertheless
If you will hold on
Keep Love dear to your hear t
From this core and center
Do not depart
For everything around you
Is merely a distraction
An outward decoration
But after the wedding day
It will all go away
Therefore focus your emotions
On me and you
Take time for tenderness
It will see us through

Time for tenderness
Will refill the Love tank
Deposit into the Love bank
Break the cycle of complaining
In which there is never gaining
Move us beyond things
Reposition the focus on us
Preferring to rejoice
Rather than make a fuss

Take time for tenderness
It's all I ask
It's all I want
I need no flowers
I don't need gifts
My only request
Is tenderness

Let's bury the irritation
Move beyond aggravation
Forget even monetary inclinations
Life is short
Time is precious
Of tomorrow
We have no guarantee
Therefore let's Love and live today
Not wait until the wedding ceremony

Take t ime for tenderness
We both desperately need it
We owe one another Love
This is our greatest debt
Let's refuel and replenish
Let not our Love diminish
Though it comes from above
We must attend to it daily
Forgive me my darling
For being neglectful and lazy
Karla my sweetheart
About you I'm still crazy

The stresses and duties of life
Come with aggression to overwhelm
Nevertheless we must remain
At this ship's helm
Before all other chores
Before we walk through
Other occupational doors
Let's regain Love's force
And fight for our focus
Drive out all distractions
Reprioritize and eliminate
That which thwarts our tenderness
Tenderness is our life blood
With which we'll not fail
Tenderness can illuminate our lives
Remove us from our job's jail
No matter the daily duties
Regardless of the to-do-list
Let's make a vow
To never forget this
To take time for tenderness.
