By reason of a speech

An oration in honor of

Or writing in memory of

A loved one

A noteworthy individual

An exemplary person

Whom we can learn from

Model in life experience

Find meaning from and for life

Eliminate vanity and hype

Forget our complaints and gripes

And focus on our higher purpose

Divorce our decadence

Relocate our fixation on selfishness

Alter our life to achieve relevance

Remove fear and hesitance

Lovingly embrace others

Without racism and resistance

Defy impossibilities with boldness

Believe for more

And not settle for less

As you identify with

The life of another

Their triumphs and tragedies

Their strengths and struggles

Their friends, sisters and brothers

Considering their manner of life

Their lifel ong philosophy

Their determination and audacity

To pursue and live their dreams

Or succumb to circumstances

And things not as they seem

By which their perception and personhood

Was dwarfed and demeaned

Realizing their inner cries and screams

Their visible victories

Societal success

Public breakthroughs

Private blessings

Practices and professing

Such my friend

Is a eulogy

Opening eyes of all to see

To love

To live

To remember

And not be dismembered

By the loss of a loved one

To whom they were someone

Who had an impact

Made a difference

Touching their hearts, minds and lives

Such connection

We cannot despise

Love never fails

Love never falls

Love is always full of faith

Which blesses us all.

So as we cry

And dry our eyes

Let us arise

And fully realize

Life is precious

Life is sweet

Without meaningful relationships

It is not complete.
