Surrounded

Surrounded

Pine comes larger than your head Log cabins surround Lake Arrowhead High above Los Angeles and out of place Watching oer the desert and the rat race

The trees remind me of Canadas woods

The province of my youth is Ontario

A suburb below has the same name

But Canada is not San Bernardino

Even though people play the same

I remember when I got the goods My father taught me well enough It was not really part of being tough

Not so much the why or what

Theres more than enough of that

Maybe most he taught me how

To never let them beat my brow Still, I think of whats important

and to him I am remonstrant

my mind is free

to hug the tree

or learn about the Cree!

They were a nation under siege, surrounded and outnu mbered

with no liege, encumbered

Who in the end succumbed

Those white men I have thumbed But that same ethic still is with us The primitives or natives cuss

Why do we pursue power and ego

You might not answer this I know.

To walk within the woods To feel the real goods and smell the dew

Nurturing

My wounds are suturing

Relief

from all the grief

abuse of women

so much more, but to be brief

lets catch the thief

Masquerading as our leaders

Making wounds that sure are bleeders

Oh, to lie down in the fen

Amongst the dampening dew

With you

Surrounding and surrounded.
