Funeral Poem: From Earth To Heaven

From the time I was a young boy,

I always liked my Dad.

He taught me how to work and play ball.

And with Dad coaching the team,

Our championship team beat them all.

When I wasn't at a baseball game with Dad,

We were working together at the job site.

Dad you're alright!

You not only won my heart,

But you've Got the respect of my friends too.

And now we've Got to wait

To get to Heaven

To see you

But as for me,

While I'm here on Earth,

I am Going to keep you within my heart

And from that which you have taught me

I won't depart.

Your spirit and strength are within me

So I Go forth in victory

To be all that you would want me

To grow up and be

To make the world a better place

Until I see your face.

When I get promoted

To be up there with you

We are Going to have

A heartfelt embrace.

Until then however

I will walk in the divine grace

By which you ran your Earthly race.

My dreams wholeheartedly

I will chase.

The love you so generously gave to me

I wil l give to others

Beginning with my family, sister and brothers

Just look down from above Dad

You will surely see

Everywhere I Go

I will bring

Love, Life and liberty.

Because in you Dad

I have touched and experienced

Love unto Eternity.
