Journey Now With Me Dear Friend

This is a bit of Poetry I wrote some years ago for my current girlfriend. We were and still are great Friends but we had reached a crossroads; do we stay and maintain these bonds of Friendship or do we progress? Since I have mentioned that it was for my current girlfriend, I guess the answer is evident.

It is never an easy decision to move that Friendship to the next level, you risk a lot by doing just that. You may gain a girlfriend or wife but destroy a Friendship. Having to choose between good and evil is never easy so having to choose between what is good and what is better is an even more testing task.

Journey now with me dear friend

Journey now with me dear friend
To discover where hearts lead;
Love we cannot comprehend,
Nor deny our burning needs.

Allow not the heart to starve,
Nor two souls to be deprived;
Together we ably carve
One road- our two lives entwined.

Friends are few and far between,
And lovers the rarest still;
Journey to places unseen,
Or together rest, fulfilled.

A promise made whilst we live-
I can love thee my dear friend,
With everything one can give
To another 'til the end.

As my cherished companion
Or my intimate flower;
Much will come from our union
As good Friends or two lovers.
