Are your parents about to celebrate a special anniversary? Are you trying to prepare a Toast for the day?
An anniversary Toast is big deal and you want to make sure that this comes out exactly right.
You want to strike the right emotional tone with all the guests at the celebration.
Sometimes this task can be a bit tricky.
Take for instance the story of Tracy, a lady who hails from Ireland. She, along with her siblings, asked me to compose a funny poetic Toast , which thanked her Mum and Dad for all they do.
Here it is:
Anniversary Poems and Poetry - A Sample
Dear Mum and Dad,
Mum and Dad, Ray and Celia,
Greatest couple alive.
Today we celebrate your wedding,
Anniversary twenty-five.
A quarter of a century
Of love and care as one.
A wondrous time for all, for sure,
Always so much fun.
Mum came from Glangevlin,
Dad from Glenfarne, by chance.
They met one glorious night
At the Rainbow Ballroom of Romance.
Mum loved dad's wrangler suit,
Made of sumptuous courdoroy.
Mum's long brown hair and freckles
Made dad one happy boy.
He was welcomed by her family
With open arms and heart.
For sure, the best fry-up in Ireland
Hastened their loving start.
Both mum and dad are caring,
And never ever late.
Except at the altar way back when, When mum made poor dad wait.
Dad was always accident prone,
Constantly in harm
. This one-time forestry worker
Cut trees - and nearly cut off his arm.
He's safer now as a postman,
And so caring for our elderly neighbors.
In addition to the mail,
He carries their groceries as favors.
He knows everyone, it seems,
And even as we speak,
He goes to all kinds of funerals,
At least one per week.
Meanwhile, mum's a stay-at-home,
Heart and backbone of everyone.
Dinner always on the table,
Spirit bright and warm as the sun.
They had 3 beautiful daughters,
The pride and joy of their whole life.
Tracey, Siobhan and Fiona,
Are the sunshine for this man and wife.
Tracey's boyfriend Ronan,
And Declan, Siobhan's beau,
Are always welcome in our house,
Bringing home the turf from the bog, you know.
Mum's a great dressmaker,
She even makes ball gowns.
And when Manchester United wins,
Dad really goes to town.
They love to do the gardening,
Dad boats and catches fish.
On this great anniversary day,
Your daughters offer a wish:
Just know how much we love you,
And appreciate all you've always done.
Our wish, with warmth and joy,
Is many more years of loving fun.
